In the beginning, MRI scans had to be repeated frequently because even small movement caused blurry images. After several scans, patients reported that they felt better \u2013 much to the surprise of their treating doctors. They reported less joint pain, could move better and felt generally more active. It stood to reason to test if MRI technology might also be used therapeutically. In cooperation with physicians, engineers and doctors, the inventor of MBST therapy devices Axel Muntermann developed the first prototypes for the therapy system which should later become MBST.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u201cWe have many patients with osteoarthritis. As we have a surgical focus, we operate a lot and have about 500 endoprosthesis operations per year. Often, patients come to us who should not yet have this surgery. But they suffer from osteoarthritis grade 2 or 3 with the respective complaints which need to be treated. Many conservative treatment options for osteoarthritis are not really successful. This why we are always happy when we can tell a patient who originally came for the implantation of an artificial joint that there is another conservative option. This is why we started with the causal treatment with MBST magnetic resonance therapy.<\/p>

It is especially these patients with grade 2 or 3 arthroses who usually respond very well. Many are again able to work without severe problems or continue with their sports. We have treated about 1200 patients with MBST, so we have become very good at assessing the probability for a positive result. The positive experiences from practical application of course had to be confirmed by studies. Based on the therapeutic success in the treatment of localized bone metabolism disorders, the inclusion of osteoporosis in the range followed logically. For a systemic disease such as osteoporosis, a new therapy device had to be developed which allows treating the whole skeleton at once with flat applicators that are integrated into the lying surface.\u00a0<\/p>

First results from in-vitro studies a few years later showed that the proliferation of bone cells increased by 290% after MBST.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to the new whole-body treatment option with OSTEO\u2219<\/strong>SYSTEM, PRO\u2219<\/strong>MOBIL was developed and facilitated the application of MBST technology. But in sports medicine, degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis or osteoporosis are no priority. Instead, it is acute injuries, inflammatory reactions due to overstressing and chronified complaints of soft tissues. Since the efficacy on the cellular level had already been confirmed in in-vitro studies, the company\u2019s own development department was able to develop further treatment sequences based on the tissue-specific parameters and thus expand the range of possible treatments to muscle, tendon and ligament cells.\u00a0<\/p>

The new tissue sequences and revision of the device components to a more effective and stable technology for the generation of magnetic resonance resulted in therapy device generation no. 2: OPEN\u2219<\/strong>SYSTEMS.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cMy experience is a record of success of more than 10 years with MBST magnetic resonance therapy in sports medicine in my sports medical practice. For me, it has become an important part of my non-surgical therapy concept but is also used in the follow-up treatment after surgery for acute injuries in professional athletes.
