Unser K\u00f6rper besteht zu 70% aus Wasser. Deshalb gibt es im Gewebe riesige Mengen an Wasserstoffprotonen. Kernspinresonanz wird durch eine Kombination aus Magnetfeldern und HF-Impulsen erzeugt. Unter Kernspinresonanzbedingungen werden die Wasserstoffprotonen in organischem Gewebe angeregt. Dadurch nehmen sie Energie auf, wodurch sich ihre biophysikalischen Parameter messbar ver\u00e4ndern.
